Leaves

Vine Maple leaves in fall color. Alsea Falls. Oregon.

The leaves signify overness.

They’ve done their job

now they’re free from the tree.

They can go anywhere

provided

the wind/water

assists their

travel.

Unattached

they swoon at the

bare ground

just to lay

and rest there

until they’re

moved to move

to act out

another drama

although dead

or dying

but much

more colorful

than the

same old

same old

green.
