A New Day

Just when I feel

I’ve reached the end,

I’m given a reprieve.

Maybe, if I had a

more expansive,

a more optimistic

outlook,

I wouldn’t be surprised

so much.

But the universe is merciful.

I’m harder on me than the

universe or any external

conditions.

So either way, I’ll take the

good entering my life–

whether I expect it,

or not.

Seems like I could get

rid of a lot of fear

by doing it the easier way,

though.
