On The Path

I’m on the path &

for the first time

I feel, the right one.

And I have been all

along but didn’t

know it.

I’m not sayin’ it

was all perfect,

but I could be in

much worse places

than I am now.

If you’re heading in

the right direction

but are just part

way there,

it’s much better

than going in the

wrong direction

and being all the

way there,

wherever “there” is

–a place you

probably don’t

want to be.

It’s a long trek

back, I tell my

students, I see

heading in an

undesirable

direction.

Sometimes they

see the point of

what I’m getting at,

so it was worth a

try to reach them.
