Bucking Broncos

Today was a “growth” day.

I “fought” for every inch

and still did not make first

down!

Yesterday, I didn’t grow as much.

How I tell, is what I feel.

Did I connect?

With my feelings; with others’?

It’s fairly uncomfortable to grow,

yet kids are constantly growing

and learning (hopefully!), and

they don’t look all that unhappy.

Why is it that adults get all the

‘tough’ lessons–the ones that

really hurt?

Maybe we have to do a lot of

repaving

while the young ones are

just laying down new road

all the time,

pothole free.

Every day counts.

Up or down.

Clear or muddled.

They’re all there for a reason.

The bucking broncos take

more focus

more of everything

to stay on & with them.
