Nature Heals

Sailboat off St. John, Virgin Islands and sunset.

I’m a confusion of contradictions.

I love my friends and what

we can share.

My work is also rewarding

on a deep level.

Yet, I need rest.

Recuperation.

The rain

even supports me,

nudging me

to stay dry, by staying in.

I have to disconnect totally

pretty much, from the world

and (all) its joys

to delve deep within

and process all that’s

left over from the busy week.

I have time to learn anew.

Feelings can finally amble

over and give me a hug,

if they want to–and they

usually do.

The rain is music to my ears,

bringing nature

into my room without me

having to take a step.
