Rainy Day, Rainy Night

The sunlight has returned.

I was afraid it was gone…

The dark and grey

wrenching, sopping wet

were smashing rain

droplets at 30 mph

into the sides of

everything in their path.

Stop and start. Stop

and start.

And now they’re gone for a while

and the day is bright,

and the sound and fury

are quiet.

The stormy rain has

laid itself to bed,

to fiercely attack

another day.  Thank God.

We needed the rain.
