Open with Water

Pink Lady Hellebore flower in fall grasses. Al’s Nursery. Woodburn, Oregon

I walked through

the thorny jungle

overgrown by

star thistle.

Where a month

ago it wasn’t,

now–7 feet tall!

Water fills the

pond area–

a peaceful

interlude

I pass

on my way.

Quiet, secluded,

small.

Coots & ducks

egrets & blackbirds.

It’s rather off

the beaten path.

A bed & breakfast

for the migrating

masses.
