Life’s an Experiment

Every day is an adventure.

Even though I’m doing

basically the same job

each day, I mix it up.

I like to take some risks–

throw my notes away

and extemporaneously

try my potential belly

flops.  You just don’t

fly straight to your

destination.  Course

corrections are inevitable

if you want to see what

works.  So there are a

lot of flops to move

through to get to

where you want

to be.  You had no

idea you were headed

there in the beginning.

I have to laugh.  If I send

five 6 year olds out the door

to retreive their belongings

from another classroom

and tell them not to

run through the halls,

a few minutes later-in record time-

they’re back.  Out of breath!

Um, you walked didn’t you?

Breathlessly, yes, I see the cat-

ate-the-mouse expressions on

their faces, they seem to

think I didn’t notice.
