Leaves & sunlight

co-habitate & frolic

in the airy air.

They lie in wait

for the sun to arrive.

Not long at all,

but a wait, nevertheless.

Light has a speed limit

and from the sun

it never stops although

hides out on occasion

each day.

It’s a straight

shooter, the sun.

So if we’re a leaf

we wait until it

calls.  Not much

else to do.

Resting at night.

And growing.
