The Light of Day

A blank page to

create from,

this day dawned

again,

for me.

It asks nothing.

I am the questioner.

It answers simply.

One step at a time,

I get to traverse time,

sometimes space,

and pack my bags

so the journey is

comfortable.

Trip-on away…

over the pebbles

of the minutes

the seconds

the nanoseconds

until a smooth path

rises to meet

me, as they say.

Like burning

a candle down

to the end of

the day–

steady light

guides my

way.
