Loss & Gain

“A man’s rich in proportion to the number

of things which he can afford to let

alone.”  Henry David Thoreau in Walden.

Just how many things do you need?

You’ve gotten along fine

without so much that you

now desire.

What do we need, really?

The basics

and inner peace

will take you

a long way

or let you be

right where you’re at–

in peace.

To choose peace

is the best

anyone can

It’s free, there’s tons

of it and you just

have only to make

a simple decision

to have it.

Feel the disappointment

of parting with something

you really didn’t want

or need anyway

turning a blind eye

to your desperation.
