Nature’s in Charge

The winter’s ice

is hiding out

in the sun’s face.

Its rain has laid

claim to new ponds.

Home for more

creatures–

a quiet corner

away from the

flock.

Like glass

its surface

mirroring

nature’s peace,

her fury

moved on

and calmness

alone reigned.

Thirsty land

is not through

with her yet–

a groundswell

of appreciation

from every leaf

for its life.
