Persist

A minute to minute assessment

of my day

would fill a lot of cans.

I can do this.

I can do that.

There is nothing I can’t try,

at least, to succeed in.

No matter what

assaults of my forward

progress,

I persist.

If I was “meant” to give

up or cease what I’m

presently doing,

I would, no qualms

or questions asked.

But I wasn’t so I

didn’t

and kept on keeping

on the path I was

momentarily on

instead.

I only got stronger

hanging in

when “toughness”

appeared on my

path.
