Going Out

If I didn’t leave the house…

I wouldn’t get to experience

life,

to feel the ups and downs, challenges

& failures or near “successes”.

I wouldn’t get to know

myself so well–

as long as I was true to

yours truly.

I look back (on the day) and

think of all the efforts I made

that wouldn’t have been made

otherwise had I not–left the

house…

I don’t realize how much I’ve

moved forward

as my mind is normally

focused on–if I’d only did a

little better, I would have

had a near or more perfect

experience–

I’ve lots of room for improve-

ment, upon reflection, but

of course, in the heat of fire,

you do the best you can

in the moment.

None of this would happen if

I arm-chaired it and

“tried” to quarterback my

life from home.
