The Hawk and Friends

The hawk doesn’t have a deed

to the land he flies over

but it’s his as much as

any other resident inhabiting

his air space.

Soar as he might, no one

bothers him–save an

errant crow occasionally.

He pumps his wings a

few easy times and

then glides in joyous

purview of the land below.

All of the animals are free

and pay no rent for where

they live.

Somehow humans got

off on the wrong foot

in that area.
